Something that I took for granted growing up is that my family always cut fruit for me to eat—for a snack after school, a nightcap after dinner, or when I'd be up late painting for class. I am definitely spoiled, but maybe it's okay to allow my family to take care of me in this way. Freshly cut fruit reminds me of being cared for, being nourished, and home.
