It's was an honor to collaborate with the team at The Dieline on a branding of The Dieline Awards for both 2015 and 2016. For the 2016 edition, we kept the bones from the previous year. We stuck with the color palette but removed the midtones for a crisp black and white while reserving the Dieline blue only for the logo and marketing, created simple patterns for the bold website, and updated the competition's category icons.
For one year of The Dieline Awards, a spin-off packaging design competition spawned from its namesake column on The Dieline. Concepts We Wish Were Real was focused on killed projects, rejected concepts, pitches, and ideas just waiting to be produced. To distinguish the CWWWR Awards apart from the prestigious Dieline Awards, we developed a colorful palette and playful language for the competition.
